Modus Hopper Random - because chance is a fine thing

The blame will lie with two football tweeters.  I was about to use the throw of a die to decide my groundhopping destination for the weekend - not for the first time.  (I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure...)  Naturally (!) I thought this was worth sharing with the world on Twitter.

@GrahamYapp:
is making a shortlist of possible #nonleague #facup ties for my Saturday entertainment

Then this happened:

therealfacup @GrahamYapp You are the ground hopping dice man!

GrahamYapp LOL I think I've discovered a niche RT @therealfacup @GrahamYapp You are the ground hopping dice man!

BeatTheFirstMan @GrahamYapp @therealfacup do it!!! The book might be self-important hogwash, but the blog could be a joy to behold (hint....)

The bad news for @BeatTheFirstMan is that the blog may well turn out to be self-important hogwash too, but I should be good at that.  As time passes, regular posts about the world of football, especially non-league, will share space with other random stuff.  You need to be aware that I arrive here from the working world of education with an eclectic range of minor interests ranging from family tree research to recreational mathematics.  I know a little bit about a lot of things, but am an expert on nothing.  I hope that there will be some laughs along the way.  I do like a good pun, as the blog title suggests.  To be honest, if blogging turns out to be as tough as dreaming up a title, this will be as short-lived as West Brom's first foray into the Premiership.  Yes, I am a Baggie by birth - deal with it.

No die is needed for this evening - I only have one new ground within travelling distance, so it will be Witney United v Kidlington in the Hellenic League Premier for me.  Or as it is sometimes known, HELLP!

  2. Welcome to the very sad world of blogging, it will very quickly drag you down into the bottomless pit of pun despair, the old ones are always the best.

    Recreational mathematics, is that like watching paint dry, but knowing exactly at what time it would dry.
