Keeper Top Colour Stats
Update : Sunday 31 March 2024
All
of this arises from a comment attributed to Petr Cech that orange is
the best colour for a goalkeeper top because it changes the behaviour of
other players around the box.
It has been a quiet start to 2024 for me but I added seven games during late March. Six were at the SW Peninsula Hop on Good Friday & Easter Saturday, followed by the Women's League Cup final at Molineux the next day. A good weekend for Blue (a 6-0 win for Ivybridge Town), Green (3 wins from 4 games with 2 clean sheets) and Black (a win with a clean sheet) and a bad one for Orange, Radioactive Bile (one defeat each) and Yellow (two defeats). Pink had a 0-0 draw.
So, from
the last 296 games watched, the table is below. When I get to 300 it will be time to persuade someone to compute a Kruskal-Wallis One-Way Analysis of Variance. I bet you can't wait.

Based
on conventional 3pts for a win, 1pt for a draw, but also -1pt for a
goal conceded (GC) and +5pts for a clean sheet (CS). Colours ranked on a
points per game (PPG) basis. The odd decimal places were caused either
by half-and-half tops or sub keepers in a different colour. The Fire
Cracker colour was suggested by the social media team at Dulux UK.
